課程簡述 The course is intended to (1) present the current state of molecular bacteriology and (2) illustrate how contemporary genetic technology is being used to understand molecular mechanisms that control environmental adaptation and behaviors in bacteria.

The following topics will be emphasized in the course: (1) Identifying fundamental questions that are addressed in bacterial biology. (2) Introducing model systems that are used to investigate these questions. (3) Available genetic technology that can be used to manipulate bacterial genes. (4) Emerging areas of bacterial genetics that are relevant to microbial life on earth.
