課程簡述	Proper use of fertilizers is critical to the production of high quality food and the environmental quality. Since the establishment of mineral nutrition theory, farmers have extensively used chemical fertilizers to increase crop yields, bringing agricultural production to unprecedented levels. However, corresponding environmental issues have gradually emerged. In the future, we need to strive towards sustainable agricultural practices to achieve a balance and consensus between agricultural production and environmental sustainability. This course on Fertilizer Science will first introduce students to the development of modern fertilizer science, the purposes and principles of fertilizer application, relevant terminology, and the characteristics of different types of fertilizers. In the second half of the semester, the course will cover the use of organic fertilizers, compost, and green manure, as well as the definition, development, and prospects of organic agriculture.
