課程簡述 This course builds on students’ existing knowledge of paragraph writing, aiming to deepen their understanding and enhance their skills in advanced academic composition. It provides step-by-step guidance in developing well-structured essays, including cause-effect, comparison, argument, problem-solution, and reaction essays. Students will gain a clear understanding of each essay type while exploring practical strategies for crafting strong thesis statements, organizing ideas, and presenting evidence effectively.
This semester, instruction will concentrate on two primary essay types: cause-effect and comparison. Please note that the focus of this course is on essay structure and academic writing strategies rather than on grammar instruction or reading comprehension. Students primarily seeking to improve their grammar or reading skills should consider whether this course aligns with their learning goals.
