| 課程簡述 | The course lays the foundation of English writing for English majors and practitioners. It systematically introduces students to the fundamentals of writing and allows them to apply these principles in crafting paragraphs covering various modes such as process, definition, description, narrative, and opinion. Students learn techniques for idea generation, logical thinking, writing effective topic sentences with controlling ideas, and composing thesis statements, supporting sentences, and conclusions. The course also covers the elements, components, and terminology of language skills, including grammar, punctuation, coherence, cohesion, unity, rhetoric, and peer editing. It aims to enhance students' proficiency in essay writing, academic writing, and business writing in subsequent training. | ||||||||
