課程簡述	(中) 當每個人自幼習得自己的母語時，即已不自覺的習得自己母語的文法。長大之後欲學習外國語言時，卻已無法像小時候不自覺的習得其文法，必須再另外費心學習。因此，文法的學習通常被列為通曉外國語言三大基本要素之一。而英文文法的學習也不例外，學習英文除了記單字、懂片語之外，如無正確文法觀念，聽、說、讀、寫就有可能出現障礙，因此文法的學習猶如一棟房屋的骨幹，僅由小磚塊(單字)及大磚塊(片語)建構而成的房子，何來堅固可言？ 對外文系學生或任何英文學習者而言，文法學習的重要性不言可喻。本高級英文文法課程並非入門基礎課程，選課學生須具備基本英文文法程度，方能有效學習。 (Eng.) When we acquire our native tongue as a child, we also acquire its grammar that exists in our minds and that enables us to communicate through language.Learning a foreign language after this childhood unconscious language acquisition period,however,is difficult and different from acquiring mother tongue: it requires labored endeavor.Grammatical knowledge is one of the three fundamental factors in mastering a foreign language, including English. In addition to vocabulary and phrases, it is unlikely for one to learn English well without knowing its grammar.Grammar, therefore, is the knowledge significant for English learners. This advanced course is designed for those who have the basic knowledge of English grammar. Students without having a background in basic English grammar are not recommended to take this course.

(中) 有鑑於國內英文文法的學習一向以考試為目標，完全扭曲了文法學習的本意：學文法是為了使我們懂得句子的結構，幫助我們在聽、說、讀、寫方面能夠正確使用英文。本課程教學目標即為，透過現代句法學結構觀念與傳統英文文法觀念的結合，解讀現代英文句子結構，從簡單句、複合句、複雜句、複合複雜句、CNN新聞句構、TOFEL特選句構、至GRE特選句構，以求達到對英文文法結構的精確掌握。無須死背文法規則，也無須看完整本文法書，期使學生建構實用文法觀念。 (Eng.) In Taiwan, English grammar has been important for secondary school students to take examinations rather than to use in real life English.The aim of this course is thus to integrate modern syntax with traditional grammar to analyze English sentence structure involving simple sentence, compound sentence, complex sentence, compound-complex sentence, CNN news English, TOFEL English,and GRE English.With this aim, students who take this course are expected to learn to be able to construct precise and correct English sentence structural understanding without having to memorize a big chunk of rules, nor to read through the whole grammar book to master the sentence structure of English.			講授 習作	測驗
